The Industry Training Authority (ITA) is the governing body of all apprenticeships in British Columbia and oversees trades training and certification. This link will let you explore a variety of registered trades in BC and to research the ACE IT and SSA “Youth in Trades” programs.
Search for an apprenticeable trade here. Click on the trade to see the “Program Profile”. This gives an overview of the levels associated with that trade and the work-based training hours needed for full credentialing.
The ITA Essential Skills on-line tool allows you to test your math and English foundation skills for a specific trade. It automatically adjusts to your skill level. If you are getting the correct answers, the assessment will automatically give you more challenging questions. The opposite is also true. If you are answering incorrectly, you will get easier questions.
