JOIN the Richmond RCMP Youth Squad!
This program offers grade 10-12 students an opportunity to explore a variety of emergency services careers. Through a partnership between the Richmond School District and Richmond RCMP, this program takes place on eight consecutive Thursday evenings at the RCMP detachment.
Explore the exciting world of Emergency Services: Learn about policing and related emergency services from real police officers, fire fighters, paramedics and more!
Topics covered will include:
Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification, Drug Investigation, Traffic Services, Fire & Ambulance, Canadian Military, Criminal Code Investigation,
and much more!
When & Where?
The Richmond RCMP Youth Squad will run from mid-October to early December. The program takes place at the Richmond RCMP Detachment for eight consecutive Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to any students currently enrolled in Grades 10-12. (Priority will be given to students in the higher grades.) Only 32 students will be accepted across the school district. Applications are available in early September of each year.
Cost?
The program costs approximately $80.00 (includes activities, t-shirt, hat, weekly snack and graduation ceremony).
