Skilled Trade Exploration Program
To meet COVID student cohort protocols, THIS PROGRAM REMAINS ON HOLD FOR NOW, but we are hoping for this to open up again - possibly later in the 2021-22 school year. Please keep an eye on our website or contact us or your school counsellor.
Have you ever been curious about exploring a career in a skilled trade? If the answer is “yes” and you are in Grade 11 or 12, then you are encouraged to apply for Richmond School District’s one-week (4 days) Skilled Trade Exploration Program called “STEP”. Come “step into the shoes” of a carpenter, plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, or joiner at the Richmond School District Works Yard. Applications for this exciting work experience program are available in early January from your Career Information Advisor or counsellor. See deadline to apply on application form (link below). - provide their own CSA approved steel-toed boots
- provide their Social Insurance Number
- have their own bank account (cannot be a parent's account)
