The SD38 Career Programs Office offers several Youth TRAIN in Trades programs that provide students with the opportunity to attain Level 1 / Foundation technical training skills. Students in Youth TRAIN in Trades start post-secondary course work while still in high school. They will earn both high school and college credits during the program, as well as ITA credentialing. Tuition for the first level of these programs is paid by Richmond SD38. This is typically a savings of $2500-$4000! Students can also avoid wait lists for some of our post-secondary partnership programs. All students are registered as apprentices with the Industry Training Authority (ITA).
Explore the links below to find out more about each of the Youth TRAIN in Trades programs offered through the SD38 Career Programs Office.

These are both post-secondary programs and each has a component that is taught at a post-secondary partner school. Instructors are Red Seal certified with significant industry experience.
Three new programs not found below, are Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - M, held at the BCIT Aerospace Campus, Sheet Metal (BCIT Burnaby), and Joiner (BCIT - Burnaby). Contact our office for more information about these programs.
