Youth TRAIN in Trades - Level 1/Foundation Programs
HOW TO APPLY
(Apply in the fall of 2026-27 school year... first due date Feb 2 / second due date March 2, 2027)
APPLICATIONS for our Youth TRAIN in Trades Level 1/Foundation programs for 2027-28 will be available through this link and are in schools on your Career Programs slat board! You can also see your counsellor or career information advisor for a copy.
Youth TRAIN in Trades programs provide students the opportunity to attain Level 1 / Foundation technical training skills. Students start post-secondary trades program work while still in high school, earning both high school and college credits during the program, as well as SkilledTradesBC credentialing. Tuition for the first level of these programs is paid by Richmond SD38. This is typically a savings of $2500-$5000! Students can also avoid wait lists for some of our post-secondary partnership programs. All students are registered as apprentices with SkilledTradesBC.
Explore the links below for more information on the Youth TRAIN in Trades programs offered through the SD38 Career Programs Office. Our CAREER PROGRAMS BROCHURE is also available in your school Career Programs Office slat boards (in or near school counselling offices).

These programs are taught by Red Seal Endorsed, post-secondary instructors with significant experience in industry.
