This FULL-TIME 4-course program supports degrees in Health Science, Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing, Biotechnology and more! The program will run from February – June 2028. Current grade 11’s may apply this spring (to take in semester two of Grade 12).  Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or hold valid Permanent Residency.

As this is a dual credit program, students earn credit for four Grade 12 elective courses (16 credits) and 12 KPU credits.

 

Courses include:

 

  • Biology 1150: Human Anatomy and Physiology I

    Students will study the foundational concepts of human anatomy and physiology, focusing on anatomical terminology, biochemistry, cells, tissues, and major organ systems including the integumentary, nervous, endocrine, skeletal, muscular, and cardiovascular systems. 

  • Biology 1250:  Human Anatomy and Physiology II

    Students will continue their study of human anatomy and physiology, focusing on the respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems, as well as microbiology, innate and adaptive immunity, and pregnancy and development. 

  • English 1100: Introduction to University Writing

    In this introductory university writing course, students will develop their abilities in critical reading and thinking, analysis, and clear written expression. Students will read, analyze, and respond in writing to various texts and topics. They will apply a multi-step writing process to a series of writing projects, including a research paper. This course will also introduce students to research methods, including finding, evaluating, integrating, and documenting sources.

  • Psychology 1100: Introduction to Psychology

    Students are introduced to topics related to basic psychological processes, such as the biological basis of behaviour, sensation and perception, states of consciousness, learning, memory and intelligence. Students also examine the historical and philosophical contexts behind the development of psychology and the research methods used by psychologists. Students learn through lecture, peer interactions, multimedia, and other learning activities.
